Today, I have dedicated to researching ideas for Fitness Through Adventure. I live in Salt Lake City, UT. It is a beautiful place to live if you love the outdoors, but a lot of these activities can be done anywhere. Here is a list of activities that I intend to try this summer:
Geocaching
Hiking
City Biking
River Rafting
Cave Exploration
Golfing
Museum Exploration
Bowling
Theme Parks
Water Parks
Laser Tag
National Park Visits
Foam/Mud 5K
All of these activities will be tried from a beginner's approach and I will try to provide tips or insight that may be useful if you would like to try them too. I have done some of them before, however, the difference now is I am doing them as part of an active lifestyle. I will do them more frequently and more vigor. To motivate myself I created a team for the 5K Foam Fest taking place in Salt Lake City on August 31st. I will be incorporating these events into my training for the 5K which will consist of running and strength training.
I plan to start this week. Wish me luck!

First Time's Never the Best
STOP! I want off and revoke any future tickets to ride.
FAT. I have been fat for three years. I, like so many people, have lost and gained and lost and gained, a prisoner-passenger on the proverbial weight loss carousel. I am exhausted from thinking about it all of the time and miss my active, happy body. I am disappointed in myself and particularly despise the looks I get from people who do not see me very often.
I am thinking that the only way I am going to make this lifestyle change for good is to start with complete honesty. I won't even let my husband subscribe to my blog, because I don't want him to know how much I weigh! So, I will pursue honesty through anonymity. Let's do the simple stats:
Height: 64.5 inches
Weight: 198.8 lbs
Goal Weight: 135 (+ or - for how muscular I will end up being)
I have been a gym-goer on and off, however, I realize that I become unmotivated and bored when I only utilize the gym for exercise. Therefore, this blog is about Fitness Through Adventure. I will become fit by participating in adventure. I love to travel and to see the outdoors. I want to have fun and gain an abundance of rewarding experiences.
I have this summer to kick-start this adventure. I encourage you to join in and do something amazing that will challenge and change your health and body.
Let's hop on a different ride,
